DrMWSpanakos, chiropractic orthopedist, brings to Beat the Streets a wealth of sports administrative experience and sports science expertise.
Previous administrative experience includes Director of Individual Sports, Team USA Elliniada Games, Thessaloniki Greece, New York State Director for the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and Sports Medicine Director for the Metropolitan Athletic Congress.
In addition to his administrative knowledge, DrMWSpanakos brings his sports medicine credentials which include Team Physician Certifications by the American College of Sports Medicine, Federation International Medicine in Sports, American Orthopedic Society of Sports Medicine, and NCAA Division 2 athletic training experience.
A leader in the NYC Metropolitan area in the field of sports science, he will also be bringing his lecturing expertise to the Coaches College program and the Beat the Streets Sports Science page with diet and nutrition, strength and conditioning and sports medicine information.
DrMWSpanakos' coaching experiences and certifications include NCAA division 2 Strength & Conditioning Coach, U.S. Amateur Boxing Coach & Sports Science instructor, U.S.A. Weightlifting: Club Coach, Level One Coach U.S.A Track & Field, USA Wrestling Bronze Level Coach, Empire State Games and PSAL coach.
Athletic experiences include Junior College and Division One Wrestler, 2001 "Worlds Strongest Doctor" at the World Medical Games, Evian, France with 1000 lbs total at 160 lbs.
