The 7th New York City Mayors Cup Wrestling Tournament

The Mayors Cup is the premier wrestling tournament that encompasses all New York City wrestling teams from
public, to Catholic, and independent schools. This year’s event is being sponsored by the Metropolitan Wrestling
Association, Beat the Streets Wrestling, and the New York City Sports Commission.
Please come out and support our kids. They have trained hard for this and your support shows them that they
matter and what they care about matters as well.
Middle School Mayor’s Cup
Date: Saturday, January 30, 2010
Eligibility: Any Middle School wrestler who entered a qualifying tournament.
Weigh-ins: 8:45- 10:00 a.m. (Weigh-ins will close promptly. Don’t ask to weigh-in after this time.)
Wrestling begins: 11:00 a.m. We will finish the tournament on Saturday. End time will depend on the number
of total entries. We will announce an estimated time for the start of the finals sometime near the beginning of the
tournament.
Registration: E-mail the spreadsheet available on the BTS website by 7:00 PM Thursday, January 28. Only
include those wrestlers who actually attended a middle school qualifying tournament
Medals: First through fourth place
The Girls Tournament
Date: Sunday, January 31, 2010
Eligibility: A female wrestler may compete in the following: the girls tournament and either the boys varsity or
novice tournament.
Weigh-ins: 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Wrestling begins: 9:30 a.m.
Registration: www.gimpsoftware.com, deadline Thursday, January 28th, 9:00 p.m.
Entries: Unlimited
Medals: First through fourth place
The Varsity Tournament
Dates: Saturday and Sunday, January 30th and 31st
Entries: One wrestler per weight class
Weigh-ins: Saturday, January 30th, 7:30-8:30 a.m. Sunday, January 31st, 7:30-8:30 a.m.
Wrestling: Saturday, January 30th 9:30 a.m. through quarter finals and wrestle backs,
Sunday, January 31st, 9:30 a.m. semi-finals, championships and a continuation of the consolations,
Third through Eighth place matches: 12:00 noon
Championship Finals: 1:30 p.m.

Certificates: Fifth through eighth place
