
The Beat the Streets Girls Wrestling Team has been busy traveling the country seeking the best competition. Most recently, the top eleven competitors from the five boroughs traveled to the Body Bar Tournament in Lakeland, Florida, to compete for a national title and the opportunity to be a member of the USA Cadet and Junior World Teams. The Beat the Streets representatives qualified by either winning the Beat the Streets Tournament on March 4th, or winning the wild-card wrestle-offs in the PSAL Girls Freestyle Jamboree Tournaments. The team made the city proud, bringing home a total of six medals and qualifying two athletes, Rosemary Flores and Kim Cardenas, both from Staten Island, for the Cadet Division Pan-Am Games.
