Monsignor Farrell High School, led by the 2007 High School Coach of the Year in New York City, Lou DeStefano, continues building a New York State powerhouse program for the Staten Island School.
Over the week-end, four wrestlers qualified for the 2008 New York State Championship by virtue of winning the CHSAA State Championships held in the beautiful new arena at Chaminade HS, Mineola, LI. The NYS Championships is scheduled for March 7-8 in Rochester, NY.
Three of the 4 wrestlers are underclassmen and with the return of Rich Beningo, who had to sit out the tournament due to a head injury, provides the base to continue the climb to the top of the CHSAA Statewide.
