BTS Coaches,
This email marks the beginning of a new tradition at Beat The Streets, weekly updates. Each Monday we will send you an email to inform about upcoming events, scheduling, and any changes.
First of all, many of you probably heard that we were planning to have an event at Grand Central Terminal Oct 26, that event has now been cancelled.
Over the next few weeks, we will be straightening out the mat situation which is a problem at many of your schools. If your school was among those whom we delivered a mat to during the last week of school last year, there is a good chance that you may have received an incomplete mat. We want to provide each of our schools with a full competition mat. If your program does not have a full mat at this time, please let us know so we can get one to you asap.
Mike Cigala has recently started Project Connect. Our goal in this project is to get every eighth grader in one of our programs into a high school where they can continue their wrestling career. Many of you have been providing us names of your eighth graders, however we need names and contact information so we can make sure that all wrestlers and their parents are as informed as possible about our programs. In addition, we will be holding meetings for Project Connect:
Wednesday Oct 10 Grand Street Campus 6pm-8pm
Wednesday Oct 17 Baruch Middle School 6pm-8pm
We would like all of our coaches to try to make at least one of these meetings.
Finally, we would like to correct a mistake we had made in talking to many of you. The mandatory Coaches College clinic for Winter Programs will be Nov 9 th and 10 th at Grand Street Campus, we had told many of you that this was Oct 12 th and 13 th , we were mistaken, and we would like to apologize for any inconvenience we might have caused.
