Dear BTS Coaches,
They say that success happens when hard work and preparation meet with opportunity. This adage can best explain our Fortress dual championships this past weekend, May 3, at Petrides high school. The event was great with excited coaches, wrestlers, and fans all having a great time! Congratulations to the A & B division dual champions, Lions Wrestling Club coached by Joe Diforte and IS 93, coached by Jeremy Schwartz, for their championship performance. Coach Jeremy Schwartz of IS 93 is in his first year of coaching and has done a tremendous job with his team. Keep up the great work Jeremy! We are very proud of our BTS Fortress League and its dedicated wrestlers and coaches.
We have a couple of items that are of high importance to all coaches.
2008 BTS Middle school championship @ Harlem Armory-Saturday May 17:
In two weeks we will host one of the largest middle school tournaments in the New York City area. Both Fortress and Novice teams will compete in the same venue for separate championship honors. More than 60 teams will be competing in the famous Harlem Armory and we have an exciting day planned for all. Every BTS team is invited, both Novice and Fortress, and winter and spring league teams as well. Coaches, it is important that you prepare your wrestlers to attend this event and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity. We will be calling every BTS program this week to get final numbers for participation for this great event. The Novice championships will begin at 8 am while the Fortress championships should start at 1 pm. Both Novice and Fortress wrestlers will take part in the parade of teams that will occur at 11:45 am. There will be more details at a later date.
New BTS summer camp roster sheet :
To expedite the summer camp process we have designed a official roster sheet to use. The sheet will be attached to this update. Simply fill out the sheet completely with all information, including your team roster of wrestlers that are planning on attending summer camp, and check the camp you wish to attend. Fax the roster sheet to us at (212) 457-1150, and we will send you the proper info and paper work on the camp itself. You will then fill out the camp info for your wrestlers and mail it back to the PSAL office for final handling by us. Please use this process in applying for all BTS summer camps.
Beat the Streets Celebration
We are still awaiting replies from many of you regarding out celebration May 20 th at the Bowery Hotel. The event flyer is attached. Many big names from the wrestling world will be on hand to celebrate what you've helped to accomplish this year.
